Later you can also unlock a basketball court where you can practice shooting hoops or play the old guitar in the warehouse – which you'll be surprised at how in-depth it is, allowing you to select specific scales and chords. The first one you unlock is an RC-style racing game around the junkyard out back and we have to say, the controls have greatly improved from the demo. Once you have more free time, you'll be able to enjoy some of the mini-games Gas Station Simulator has to offer. Upgrades, some renovations, information, orders and more are found in this one location and it's very straightforward to navigate, without dragging you away from the world while you go about minute-to-minute tasks. This can all be done from the PC inside the station. You'll need to occasionally put in orders for items and gas to keep the Dust Bowl operational. This adds another small game of scanning items for combos to get tips, and the ability to begin receiving deliveries besides gas. Once people can park, you'll be able to make the interior into a convenience store. You can also paint the station from a selection of colors and add décor to make it your own. After you've earned a few bucks, you can start upgrading by clearing sand away using a bulldozer named Rudy to make room for a parking lot. There is a small mini-game for this task to get as close to their desired fill line in order to get tips and keep them happy. Once the Dust Bowl is open, you'll start getting customers stopping for gas. This bit of flavor with the uncle adds an interesting story to this roadside stop. He'll also loan you money should you need it, but make sure you repay it in time with interest or there are consequences. Yes, thievery is part of this game although it's optional, and lockpicking is completely Bethesda style to make it easy. He also sends emails, so the information is always on hand at the station's computer, but sometimes there are veiled threats, or he'll ask the player to complete odd tasks such as breaking into people's cars to steal their valuables. Here and there throughout the game, he'll phone the player to direct them or unlock more of the station's services and amenities. The main character's uncle sold it to him and he's a shady individual, even if he does give you help. You see, while you technically own the gas station, it's not truly yours. There's no penalty for doing this unless you have a loan to repay - and you do want to repay it. ![]() You can open or close shop whenever you want, putting players in control of their own hours or you could just shoo everyone away while you make renovations or need time to do other things. Once this is done, you'll be directed to actually open the station by turning on the open sign by the road. You'll spend a fair amount of time cleaning up in Gas Station Simulator. Customers tend to leave garbage behind and can even track sand into your little station, which you'll need to keep clean. ![]() You start the game by getting the power back on and doing a little clean-up to make the Dust Bowl more inviting for customers.
